Hello readers, I’ve been busy with numerous projects and haven’t had the time to update this blog with gaming news and random posts about games that I’ve been playing or giving my Top 10 <insert topic>.
I have been asked to take over part of the online presence for a charity that I attend. One of the goals is to get more people aware of the centre and what they do, as well as gain new Twitter & Facebook followers/likes and to get the websites linked onto other websites.
So this is a small request, does anyone out there have any advice or tips in how to achieve these goals?
I’ve been mulling over the idea of writing a post about Sailor Moon, I recently decided to re-watched all the episodes and movies of Sailor Moon, and while I’m all filled with fuzzy nostalgia. I like probably a decent portion of anime fans can say that Sailor Moon was one of the first (or maybe the first) anime I ever watched (it’s kinda neck and neck with Tenchi Muyo! depending on what time I crawled out of bed for school). I can only really remember Toonami being the gateway to anime (it normally had Dragon Ball Z/GT, Crayon Shin Chan (I still ❤ that and was really saddened to hear the passing of Yoshito Usui in 2009).
I miss you lots, please come back to me again. The days just don’t feel the same without you. Your golden rays hitting me while I wait for the train have been replaced by being pelted in the face by sideways rain and wind. I know I might have badmouthed you (only slightly and only during the night-time when I couldn’t sleep) but our relationship wouldn’t always be a match made in heaven. PLEASE I’M BEGGING YOU, RETURN TO ME!!!!
Lots of love
I was thinking about what would be my top 10 favourite video game songs, while trying to exclude the ‘normal’ ones such as One Winged Angel etc. So I’ve decided on just one song from each franchise (and choosing a song from Final Fantasy proved to be a toughie). I decided to *try* and exclude songs played during cut scenes as well, but sometimes it is just too tempting to write about a track.
I realise I haven’t posted in a bit, mainly because I haven’t really been gaming much due to loss of interest. So this post might be more about real life stuff and a small bit about games (maybe, what can I say I don’t really plan what I write)
The weekend just gone was Liverpool Pride with the theme being Superheroes. Liverpool Pride has only been going for a few years now, but this is the first time I’ve actually managed to actually go to it, and despite this, I spent all my time in the pub, drinking, which is actually what I always end up doing whenever I’m over in Liverpool. The first Pride event I went to was Manchester Pride a few years back, and it was eventful to say the least (read: I missed my last train and then had to sleep in the train station and some other stuff ended up happening.)
I wish I could actually find my copy of Summoner, was a good game to play (from what I remember.)
Much like he had Platinum Games make Revengence, Kojima is looking for a studio to do a complete rebuild of the first Solid title with the Fox Engine.
Metal Gear creator Hideo Kojima is looking for a studio to create a second remake of the original Metal Gear Solid, he said during an E3 round table earlier this month. The first remake of the game came from Silicon Knights in the form of 2004′s Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes for GameCube. This new remake, Kojima said, would use the Fox Engine, which powers the upcoming Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. He noted that some mechanics would need updating.
Mixed feelings about this, but in the end my opinion (unfortunately for my bank account) is:
First shalt thou take out the Holy Pin, then shalt thou count to three, no more, no less. Three shall be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, neither count thou two, excepting that thou then proceed to three. Five is right out. Once the number three, being the third number, be reached, then lobbest thou thy Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch towards thy foe, who being naughty in My sight, shall snuff it.
Monty Python and the Holy Grail I loves you!
Yay no more DRM.
Boo to no more family sharing.
Yay for not having to be constantly connected to the internet.
Yay no restriction on used games.
Yay no region locked.
Boo to still having the Kinect.
Boo the £100 more price tag.
Boo that I feel really ill, so I’m going to crawl back into bed and die.
Yesterday, I finally got my Beta email from Square Enix and wasted no time in downloading the Beta launcher. I decided on creating a Miqo’te Lancer, because I got the Beta invite on my alt’s email address, and since Mooglepie was a Mithra in FFXI, Tisiphone 2.0 is now a Miqo’te, although is it Tisiphone 3.0 because I had a Tisiphone character back when I did the Alpha test back in 2010 or even Tisiphone 2.5.3 (.5 for ARR and .3 for Beta Phase 3)?
Anyway Miqo’te Lancer on Adamantoise gooooo. I had fun up until the Mission: Chasing Shadows, then it went downhill a bit. Apparently this bug has been active for a long, long time so I’m hoping that Squeenix will actually fix it at some point. Basically there’s a set of markings you need to click in order to get the cutscene, however a) you can’t party for the fight and b) if someone else checks the marks at the same time as you, you can’t enter the instance, so by the time I got to the markings this was there:
(Side note: The glow-y point in the distance is where I needed to get to, four hours it took to get there.)
Definitely a deja vu of Final Fantasy XI when they first released the Adventuring Fellow and also when Dragoon was first released.
(not my picture, pretty sure I heard about that stuff happening and avoided those areas like the plague until the dust had settled.)
But yeah, FFXIV is sooo pretty to look at, and character creation is a lot more fleshed out (including the option to increase good ol’ bust size, yes I did cave and use this because I thought my character was a bit flat chested, although I do realise having huge bazookas while swinging weapons, running or shooting bows is not the best combination ever.)
